Weymouth - A Chimney Pot Spotter's Guide to Weymouth

Queen Victoria Jubilee Clock Tower, Dorset, DT4 7EA
Sunday 20th September 2026
Ever wanted a way to enrich almost any train or car journey? A way to fascinate yourself in almost any town and places with buildings? A way to start to notice things which few others do, but are there hiding in plain sight? Then consider the rooftop world of Chimney Pots! Weymouth has an abundance of them, and the pots along the seafront are easily appreciated from the Promenade. Bring your camera (if you only have a phone camera, that is fine - we will cover that) - and join Chimney Pot spotter, Tim Prevett, for a tour pondering aspects of Chimney Pots you may never have considered, with insights and tips for enjoying and photographing the world of Chimney Pots which surrounds us in almost every built up environment. The tour will take an entirely accessible route ranging along the promenade from Alexandra Gardens near the Pavilion, to Greenhill Gardens (which will have some slopes). Starting at the Jubilee Clock Tower for 1030 am, finishing around midday. Dress suitably for the weather and consider windchill for the seafront.
If you use Facebook, follow the website link, or look up "The Chimney Pot Appreciation Society" and download and print out the two pot-spotting sheets from the group's files. Copies will be available on the day.
