Comedy Women in Print: Author Event

Not content with running this awesome, career-defining, life-enhancing prize, we’re also arranging another Author Event! Cue brass bands, confetti cannons and heralds of angels chorusing... Yes, back by popular demand, we’re hosting another social gathering for all you witty women. Come along and meet like-minded fabulous females to chat all things writerly.

The date is Wednesday 14th October, 6.30-11pm. It’s upstairs at The Betsey Trotwood (best pub name ever?) on Farringdon Road.

Whilst the main objective of the evening is to bring the fabulous CWIP community together, we do also need to raise funds for the prize. Sadly, the heralds of angels don’t carry cash. We’ll be running another raffle with fantastic prizes, including a ‘book to screen’ session with TV comedy screenwriter Frog Stone, a one-night writing retreat with supper at a luxury hotel and a gift hamper from LUSH!

Tickets will be £10 per person, which includes a glass of wine. We wish we could host you all for free, but have to pay for the venue and bar staff, which we’re sure you’ll agree is essential for the evening.

There are only sixty places available and we sold out quickly last time, so to secure your place and ensure you don’t miss out, please click here to buy your ticket.

Why is CWIP so important?
Before the Comedy Women In Print Prize, many female writers of humorous fiction struggled to find a place for their work. Too often pigeon-holed as either chick-lit or man-hating harpy fiction, we found ourselves, not in no man’s land, but in no woman’s land! CWIP gives witty women writers a platform and empowers them to tell their story. We recognise, support, encourage, celebrate and generally big up comedy women writers at all stages of their journey. Our finalists - many of you! - have secured agents, publishing deals and furthered their education as a result of CWIP.

We look forward to seeing you.
