Common Crowd Ceramics Workshop
Join local ceramist Tom Meredith at The Common Room for a creative session with terracotta clay. Develop foundational hand-working skills to mould a crowd in your creative image, investing each with a spark of life along the way!
Inspired by Gormley's 'Field' installation, these figures will join our Common Crowd - celebrating both our similarities and differences, and honouring the earth that grew us all. Figures will be bisque-fired and unglazed to respect the earth and minimise energy needed for transformation.
About Tom: Thomas is a recent graduate specialising in ceramics, where he developed his practical and theoretical knowledge through the creation of traditional pottery forms. He is now tentatively returning to an exploration of the self-construct, utilising a multimedia approach to create kinetic/sound sculpture.
