Sir Gawain & the Green Knight
The Dipping House, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 1BU
Friday 4th December 2026 7:30PM
Fri 4 Dec – Sun 20 Dec
It’s Christmas in Camelot and the King’s nephew is to be Knighted on New Year’s Day. It’s a time of celebration, but Gawain’s choice to join Arthur’s Round Table hasn’t pleased everyone and dark, envious forces are at work.
When a strange, supernatural visitor interrupts the feast, the young Knight makes a deadly bargain and begins a dangerous quest.
Can Sir Gawain fulfil his pledge without losing either his honour or his life?
Claybody Theatre brings you a classic Arthurian legend that’s magical, mysterious and a little bit sexy! Join our talented cast of Actor-Musicians in the atmospheric Dipping House for a spell-binding start to the Festive Season.

*Theatre captioning provides live, text-based transcripts of dialogue and other important sounds, like a scrolling subtitle system. It makes live performances accessible to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have other needs, by displaying the text on screens placed near the stage or on personal devices. This system also includes speaker names, sound effects, and offstage noises, unlike traditional surtitles used for foreign language translations.
Relaxed performances are theatre shows that have a more casual and accepting atmosphere, allowing for noise, movement, and audience reactions. Adaptations are made to the show's technical elements, like reducing flashing lights and loud noises, and a designated chill-out space is available for those who need a break. These performances are designed for anyone who would benefit from a less rigid environment, including those with sensory needs, neurodivergence, or anxiety.
All performances are wheelchair accessible, with hearing loop and touch tours available. Due to the layout of the auditorium, we cannot accommodate mobility scooters. Please contact [email protected] for further assistance.
Bar provided by Lymestone Brewery
