SEBD FORUM - NICHOLA MCWILLIAMS
Online
Wednesday 4th February 2026 11:00AM
SEBD Forum- Behaviour Support Team
Under the new model the entry point into the service is via the SEBD Forum. This is an opportunity for colleagues to liaise with their Behaviour Specialist Teacher to discuss pupils who are presenting with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties that interrupt their learning and the learning of others. The aim is to work collaboratively and develop strategies to guide staff to support their pupil. Staff will be required to complete the Swansea LA Forum Referral Form, gain parent/carer consent and return to the Behaviour Specialist Teacher, via e mail at least one week prior to the slot. When the referral form has been received then a TEAMS invite will be generated and shared with the attendee. Each slot will focus on one learner and last for 30 minutes. We politely request that no more than 2 slots are booked in the first instance to ensure access for all school. Please note that if the form is not received at least one week prior to the forum date, the Behaviour Specialist Teacher will be unable to process the booking for the requested slot. The decision was taken that individual BSTs run their own patch forum, rather than two or three BSTs attending. In doing so, the team are optimising the number of slots being offered to schools and can prioritise support based on the needs of learners across their patch.
For schools to have the best experience during forum, BSTs have been grouped and have dedicated ADDS sessions to collaborate and review the information submitted prior to forum and use their combined skills and knowledge to suggest relevant support strategies.
