Christ Church Summer Music Festival - Festival Orchestra
Christ Church, Hertfordshire, EN8 7ED
Saturday 29th August 2026
Join us for the second evening concert of our inaugural Christ Church Summer Music Festival, with our headline concert of the festival, featuring the Christ Church Music Summer Festival Orchestra.
We open with the cosmopolitan soundscape of George Gershwin's An American in Paris with its blazing jazz harmonies and vibrant orchestration, before traveling halfway across the globe to the operatic world of Bizet's Carmen Suites, featuring lively Latin rhythms and soaring melodies. Their finale features the might of the full symphony orchestra in Schubert’s sublime 8th Symphony with its lush harmonies and its immense emotive power.
Refreshments will be provided at our fully licensed bar before the concert, as well as in the interval.
Join us for a truly one-of-a-kind evening, and what will surely be a highlight of our musical programme at Christ Church.
