Crime at Christmas with Author Chris Frost [Book Event]
Chorley Theatre Studio, Lancashire, PR7 2RL
Monday 16th November 2026 7:00PM
Crime at Christmas - Author Chris Frost in Conversation with Rob Parker
Start your festivities early and join ebb & flo bookshop in The Studio for some Christmas crime and seasonal shenanigans. Crime writer Chris Frost will be here talking about his latest book The Christmas Carol Killer, with fellow author Rob Parker (The Troubled Deep, Forbidden Waters). If you’ve been to our previous crime events you’ll know that, unlike their books, the authors are usually lovely and these pair are no exception!
There will be a chance for audience questions followed by a book signing. Books will be available to buy on the night.
About the book:
Who won't wake from this silent night? Durham in December is bustling, and a gruesome murder isn’t on anyone’s Christmas list. So when retired teacher Joseph Morley is found dead, sheet music rammed down his throat and a carol playing on repeat in the background, the police want answers fast. DI Tom Stonem and partner DS Lauren Rea had hoped for a quiet Christmas – but Morley’s corpse is not the only festive surprise.
It seems to be the season for slaying, with each death somehow linked to the school where Morley was once choirmaster. As Christmas Eve approaches, Tom must decipher the killer’s chilling motives before the opening notes of the annual carol service. Will he unearth the true meaning of the macabre music – or become the next victim in a deadly performance?
About the author:
Chris Frost grew up in Northern Ireland and now lives in the appropriately named Marple. Under his real name, Chris McDonald, he is the author of ten crime books, including the Erika Piper trilogy and The Wrong Man. Chris Frost is his wintery alter-ego, where he writes about Christmas murders and Detective Inspector Tom Stonem. He is a podcast producer and a fan of football, heavy metal and dogs.
