CWF26 walk 4 - Three Churches of Llanover, Llanvihangal Gobion and Llanfair Kilgeddin

Llanover Village Hall, Abergavenny, NP7 9HB
Friday 23rd October 2026 10:00AM
New this year, this lovely walk visits three of Monmouthshire's fascinating historic churches and takes a walk along the River Usk.
St Bartholomew's Church, Llanover is an impressive Old Red Sandstone church with elegant perpendicular architecture and the tomb of Benjamin Hall, 1st Baron Llanover.
The now-closed Church of St Michael, Llanvihangel Gobion dates from the 15th century. This Grade II* listed church is a rare example of a historic rural church. Finally, the remote church of St Mary, Llanfair Kilgeddin is a hidden gem dating from the 14th century. Set amongst peaceful farmland, it is now cared for by The Friends of Friendless Churches and features remarkable Benedicite sgraffito panels, medieval features and fragments of historic glass.

This walk is not suitable for dogs.

8.5 miles moderate with some stiles. Allow 5-6 hours. Bring picnic, drinks and a camera.
