Galloway Sings for Gaza - Workshop

CatStrand, High St, CatStrand, High St, DG7 3RN
Sunday 8th November 2026
Galloway Sings for Gaza – a scratch choir, led by Kate Howard ( Cairn Chorus, Songwave Choir) with Rose Ardron. Following our successful event last September  - you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/8QGGzB4YGxY?si=p1xI_XO9zrPibEBC  - we are calling out to singers to join us to learn three songs on the themes of peace, freedom and justice that reflect both Palestinian and Scots culture.

This afternoon event will bring people from across Galloway together in community, to sing songs for the people of Gaza as an act of solidarity. We will perform the songs that evening as part of the Galloway Voices for Gaza event.

All ages are welcome - children must be accompanied by an adult. If you like to sing you are welcome. No experience of singing in a choir is required. No need to read music - all songs will be taught by ear. For those who would prefer them, sheet music and sound files will be made available in advance.
There will be a short afternoon break – bring your own refreshments. Food will be provided in the break between the afternoon workshop and the evening event.

Feedback from our previous event:
“Beautiful choice of songs, brilliantly taught, excellent cake and lovely people”

This event is a fundraiser for Medical Aid for Palestinians – suggested min donation £10. Children under 16 – free.

Includes entry and participation in the evening concert.
