Green Careers Week: Environmental Sustainability Digital Badge In-Person Session
The Sheffield College - Hillsborough - Innovation Suite, Livesey St, S6 2ET
Thursday 5th November 2026 2:00PM
Join us during Green Careers Week to work through the module The Economics of Climate Change with the Sustainability Team!
This 90-minute session will guide you through the module with support from the Sustainability Team. Learn alongside your peers and take part in discussions around key themes, climate change, and current economic issues.
A green career can be any job, role, or occupation that contributes to preserving or restoring the environment and our planet, and not just the obvious ones that may come to mind, such as ecologists or retrofit construction workers.Increasingly, a wide variety of roles, including marketing, procurement, and events management, require green skills. There are also growing opportunities in roles that help manage the environmental impact of industries such as hospitality, performing arts, and sport. In fact, every job will need to incorporate green skills if we are to achieve the Government's Net Zero 2050 targets.
What is a Digital Badge?
A digital badge is a verifiable, portable, online representation of a skill, achievement, or credential. When a learner completes a course, an organisation can issue a digital badge through a dedicated platform. Learners can then accept and share their badge, providing employers with instant, verifiable evidence of their competencies.
We have created the Sheffield College Environmental Sustainability Digital Badge, which will help you develop your understanding of climate change and sustainability issues while demonstrating your knowledge to potential employers and higher education providers.
You can complete the digital badge modules wherever and whenever suits you!
