Concertina song accompaniment with Steve Turner
Riverside Centre, Suffolk, NR35 1EU
Friday 4th September 2026
A relaxed, hands‑on workshop for anyone interested in using the concertina to support their singing. We’ll start with a light vocal warm‑up and a few simple singing techniques, followed by song demonstrations and guidance on developing your own accompaniment style.
We’ll look at different concertina systems and what each offers for song accompaniment, along with tips on chords, rhythm, balance, and approach. There’ll also be time for questions and trying things out.
Open to all ability levels and ALL SYSTEMS OF CONCERTINA.
Steve Turner is known as a pioneer of highly sophisticated English concertina song accompaniments, stretching the boundaries of traditional forms, with one of the best voices in the business. He is a multi-instrumentalist, who also plays mandolin and tenor banjo.
