Magical Flutes
All Saints Church, Marlow, SL7 2AA
Sunday 8th November 2026 3:30PM
In the eighteenth century, the then newly-designed flute, made of wood and with one key, became very popular. Mostly in four parts, it was easy to carry around, and was the instrument of choice for many a gentleman with time on his hands. There were even flutes made in the form of walking sticks! Many duets were composed for two flutes together. The programme, which includes music by Telemann, W.F. Bach, de Fesch & Hotteterre, uses copies of 18th century flutes to recreate the period.
