'Noises Off' by Michael Frayn
Bolton Little Theatre - Main theatre, Bolton, BL1 4TG
Tuesday 29th June 2027
Michael Frayn’s hugely successful comedy following the exploits of a touring theatre company struggling to stage their own chaotic farce called 'Nothing On'.
We see them put through the paces of a final dress rehearsal by frustrated director Lloyd Dallas, riddled as it is with missed cues, forgotten lines, and petty rivalries. Intriguingly, the audience is granted access to the backstage mayhem as Act 2 sees Lloyd visit the company mid run, in all its disastrous glory, before Act 3 opens up during a performance towards the end of its haphazard tour.
Frequently hailed as the funniest play ever written.
