Itchenor Jetty, Itchenor, PO20 7AW, PO20 7AW
Monday 26th October 2026
Sail through history on a guided boat trip exploring Roman trade, transport and life along Chichester’s ancient harbour. Departing Itchenor to Dell Quay and back on our solar-powered boat, Solar Heritage. This special family-friendly trip will take you up Fishbourne creek, via which Romans accessed the Roman palace, to Dell Quay, once one of the most important ports in England. Learn more about the rich Roman history of Chichester Harbour. Led by Susan Webber from the Novium Museum.

The boat is open-sided with superb panoramic harbour views. There is a large, stable deck and freedom to move around once the trip is underway.  This trip is 1.5 hours duration.

**PLEASE NOTE There is a planned road closure on Stockbridge Road (the initial part of the main road to Itchenor and West Wittering from the A27 Chichester by-pass). This is a total road closure for essential gas main replacement from 10th October for up to 7 weeks (28th November 2026). An alternative route to Itchenor will need to be sought for example via the B2145 Hunston Road or via Appledram Lane South. Please consult an online mapping service for alternative routes and quickest route on the day. We hope this does not cause too much inconvenience but recommend allowing extra time for your journey.
