Monteverdi Vespers
Dorchester Abbey, Dorchester-on-Thames, OX10 7HH
Saturday 5th December 2026
Benson Choral Society, Ensemble Pro Victoria, His Majestys Sagbutts & Cornetts and The Monteverdi String Band perform Monteverdi Vespers.
We are very much looking forward to our winter concert and to singing this masterpiece of choral music which promises to be a wonderful and memorable evening for both choir and audience.
To accompany us, we are privileged to have His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts, an internationally renowned early brass ensemble based in the UK, and the Monteverdi String Band, a highly accomplished professional ensemble who play on period instruments. Together, they will reproduce the authentic sounds of the early Baroque and, in the splendour of Dorchester Abbey, transport us back in time.
Ensemble Pro Victoria, one of the country’s finest early music ensembles will perform some virtuosic solos and enhance this amazing music which is by turns majestic and dramatic, serene and spiritual.
Reserved and unreserved seats are available to book.
