An Evening of Ghost Stories
A one-man performance by Toby Burchell
“…this horror was bounding like a tiger at his heels, with blazing eyes and one stringy arm out thrown.”
Join Behind the Door Productions for ‘An Evening of 'Ghost Stories’ at Benthall Hall.
ACT 1: In Charles Dickens' classic ghost story, ‘The Signalman’, we follow a railway signalman who keeps watch over a damp, and gloomy railway cutting. Upon questioning, he reveals that he has been haunted by spectral warnings of impending train disasters.
ACT 2: In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘Lot No. 249’, we follow Abercrombie Smith, a student who investigates a series of supernatural occurrences linked to his neighbour, Edward Bellingham. Edward, an Oxford student, holds possession of an ancient Egyptian mummy which he uses to stalk his enemies.
This is a candlelit performance taking place at Benthall Hall and will begin at 7pm.
In this one-man performance, Toby Burchell performs two chilling tales by the finest writers of the ghost story genre. Originally narrated as entertainments for friends, these are the perfect traditional ghost stories
