The Art and Craft of Editing (PGR Staff, ECR & Supervisors)

Editing can generate almost visceral anxiety in doctoral students. This highly practical workshop clarifies the difference between writing and editing, and approaches editing as both a process and a set of practices. It examines different types of editing, with particular focus on structural editing (often the most difficult); acknowledges the emotional impact of self-editing and being edited by others; and offers strategies and frameworks to turn editing into a manageable, and even enjoyable, part of the writing process.
