Developing Business-Aware Academics (DBAA) Exhibition Experience at Advanced Engineering Exhibition NEC

Take your networking skills into the real world.

Following our Developing Efficient and Effective Networking Skills workshop, the Developing Business-Aware Academics (DBAA) project is offering researchers the opportunity to put their learning into practice at the Advanced Engineering Exhibition, one of the UK's leading events for innovation, manufacturing and engineering.

Supported by Liz Flint, who will provide guidance, training and facilitation throughout the experience, participants will learn how to confidently engage with exhibitors, industry professionals, policymakers and potential collaborators. This immersive, hands-on opportunity is designed to help researchers build meaningful connections, explore opportunities for collaboration, and gain valuable insights into the challenges and priorities of organisations beyond academia.

Whether you attended the networking workshop or are looking to strengthen your confidence in professional networking, this experience will help you develop the skills needed to engage effectively with external partners and increase the impact and reach of your research.

The Developing Business-Aware Academics (DBAA) project is funded by Research England and led by the University of Exeter. It brings together academics, industry, nonprofits and policymakers to inspire collaborative and impactful research that addresses today's most pressing societal and environmental challenges. Through experiences such as this, DBAA aims to equip doctoral and early-career researchers with the knowledge, skills and networks needed to thrive beyond academia.

Places are limited to 20 researchers.

Register your interest to take part in this unique industry engagement opportunity.
