Jack Brownridge-Kelly: The No.1 Holiday Destination
Briantspuddle Village Hall, Dorset, DT2 7HT
Sunday 8th November 2026 3:00PM
Building a nation is like going on holiday: it never turns out how you expect…
This bold, fast-paced new comedy is set in a freshly independent country with a big idea and absolutely no plan for what comes next.
A nation decides to solve the problem of mass tourism once and for all by nationalising it. What starts as an idealistic attempt to protect culture, community, and coastline quickly snowballs into a spectacular experiment, complete with absurd rules, escalating chaos, and consequences nobody saw coming.
Rooted in the Southwest, The No. 1 Holiday Destination promises a smart, silly, and uncomfortably familiar night at the theatre.
Reviews for previous show Cold, Dark Matters:
★★★★★ "A masterclass in storytelling" Northwest Theatre
★★★★ “Mischievous fun” London Pub Theatres (Standing Ovation Award Nominated)
★★★★ “Beautiful” LondonTheatre1
★★★★ “Excellent” Everything Theatre
★★★★ “Gripping” The Peg
Running time 120mins + interval
Recommended 14+ (mild references to bigotry and forced migration)
Touring with Artsreach, Dorset’s rural arts charity.
