Book Talk: Depression Cooking

Argo Bookshop, Canada, H3H 1M2
Saturday, October 17 2026 4:00PM
Join us in store for a talk with Sonali Menezes, author of Depression Cooking, who will be in conversation with Geneviève Wallen! There will also be readings from Lee Arden and Zoe Maeve Jenkins. This event is free, but space is limited, so please RSVP.

Masks are not required, but will be provided for free at the door. We'd like to keep this event as scent free as possible, so please refrain from wearing perfumes or scented products while attending the event. That said, we share a building with a hair salon, so there are often strong chemical smells that come from next door.

Please note that our elevator entrance is at 1839 Rue Sainte-Catherine, which is next door to our building entrance. We are on the mezzanine level (MZ button), which opens up into the hair salon next door. You'll need to turn left to get to the salon entrance and then the Argo is on the right. The building office will sometimes lock the elevator entrance door or elevator at the end of the day. If you're locked out, please call us at 514-931-3442 and we'll come let you in.

Rue Sainte Catherine is currently under construction, so street parking isn't available in front of the store. There is a paid parking lot behind the building at 1860 Blvd de Maisonneuve Ouest. The back door of the building has a sign with our address number on it (1841). There are 3 steps that lead up to our floor. You then turn left, and we're the first door. There's a wooden sign with our name on it that leads to our back room. Our back door is typically locked, but if you give us a call at 514-931-3442, we'll come let you in or, if you'd like to call us in advance, we'll make sure it's open.
