Blind Spot: Film Screening + Q&A | Alright Mate? Festival
Studio74, Exeter Phoenix, Exeter, EX4 3LS
Tuesday 17th November 2026 5:00PM
Join Alright Mate? for a screening of ‘Blind Spot’, followed by a Q&A exploring the ideas and experiences behind the film.
Created from a series of interviews with men living in Devon, ‘Blind Spot’ uses humour to explore some of the roadblocks men can face when trying to talk openly about how they feel. The original project became an intimate live performance staged inside a car, placing audiences in unusually close proximity to conversations about masculinity, vulnerability and mental health.
This new short film version brings ‘Blind Spot’ to the screen, retaining the humour and honesty of the original work while opening it up to a wider audience. After the screening, stay for a Q&A and conversation about the making of the project and the issues it explores.
This event is part of the Alright Mate? Festival, a programme of creative and social events opening up conversations around men’s mental health and wellbeing as part of the wider Movember campaign. You’ll see plenty of conversation around men’s mental health online throughout Movember, but these events offer a chance to experience that conversation in person, meet others and make it feel a little more real.
