Eroica (Wagner, Stollery, Beethoven)

Stollery: Un Pensamiento Triste with viola soloist Lorenço Macedo Sampaio (Principal Viola, Opera North)
Beethoven: Symphony No 3. 'Eroica'

From the radiant exuberance of Wagner’s Meistersingers Overture to the poignant lyricism of Stollery’s Un Pensamiento Triste—we welcome outstanding viola soloist Lorenço Macedo Sampaio from Opera North. Composer Pete Stollery himself plays viola in the orchestra.

This programme brings music vividly to life. It culminates in Beethoven’s mighty Eroica Symphony, a groundbreaking work of heroic scale, passion, and enduring power.
