A Rose has its Thorns

Step into the darker side of the Christmas story with A Rose Has Its Thorns, a haunting programme of Marian choral music performed by aeftersang ensemble.

Beneath the familiar beauty of the Nativity lie the promise of salvation haunted by sacrifice. Through choral music across the ages, aeftersang explores the darker undercurrents of sacred prophecy, where moments of motherly tenderness are tinged with something altogether more sinister.

Drawing on the mystery and melancholy of Marian music, A Rose Has Its Thorns offers a reflection on winter, motherhood, and the shadow of the nativity - where beauty and darkness bloom side by side.
