The Duke - Ware's the Film Festival
Leaside Church, Ware, SG12 9BT
Tuesday 27th October 2026
This October, we’re delighted to bring back Ware’s the Film Festival! The week long event will include a showcase of popular films in different venues across the town. Sit back, relax and enjoy a film in a venue a little different to the norm. To allow as many people as possible to join in, tickets are offered for FREE on a first come first served basis.
In 1961, an unlikely criminal makes headlines when Kempton Bunton, a working-class taxi driver from Newcastle, steals a priceless Goya portrait from London’s National Gallery. But this is no ordinary heist: Bunton demands that the government provide free television for elderly people in exchange for the painting’s return. Inspired by an extraordinary true story, The Duke is a warm, witty and wonderfully British tale of rebellion, family and one man’s unlikely attempt to make the world a fairer place.
Tea and Coffee will be available.
