Friday 30th October 2026
Branching out drama society are delighted to bring you two one act plays along with a supper evening.

Two very different plays, brilliantly acted and bring the emotions of all humans to the storylines, both comedy and tragedy go hand in hand in our lives and so it does on stage, along the way we all still laugh and find a way through.

Rude Awakenings
By Nicolas Ridley
Director Mandyrae Jessey

“A perfect piece...captivating, funny and really quite moving.”

Everything normally runs so smoothly at the Little Gissing Art Group’s ‘Annual Exhibition and Competition’ in the village hall, but this year it’s all going wrong. There are mishaps, misunderstandings, all sorts of complications and some really very shocking revelations! ‘Rude Awakenings’ is a comedy – with a tear or two – that revolves around the loves, lives and losses of four very different women.

Footprints In The Sand
By Colin Crowther
Director David Cooke

A man facing a protracted terminal illness comes to a deserted beach, despondent and raging. A mysterious woman tells him of the place's history: nearby, in the fifth century, Dwynwen, maid-in-waiting to the queen, deserted her faithless lover to live alone, away from deceitful humanity. Dwynwen appears with her nurse, who attempts to coax her home; in enlisting the man's support she opens his eyes to the love of others which will help him through his ordeal.

For supper you will enjoy a Jacket Potato with Veg Chillie, Beans and Cheese followed by Eton Mess with a shortbread biscuit.

Seating will be around tables on a first come, first served basis, so be sure to come early to get the best seats in the house!

We look forward to seeing you there.
